The Salisbury Residence is located on the north shore of Keuka Lake. The three main areas of the house are called out with separate pyramid roofs. One is for the owners' personal spaces, bed and bath, and one is for the garage. The largest pyramid covers the central gathering space: kitchen, dining and living room. It is the dominant mass, covering the only second story spaces, and providing a vertical counterpoint to the two lower wings.
The walls of the wings are articulated as linear wrapping elements, embracing the three living volumes. The design and massing was explored in 3D through FormZ modeling and animations such as this one.
